Replace the Keyboard on an Asus Laptop

Asus is a company that manufactures computers and computer parts. The laptops contain an integrated Asus Laptop Keyboard that sits right above the electronic components, which are the "brains" of the PC. A few drops of water may not completely damage the laptop, but it may disable some keys or the touchpad. It is easy to spill something on the keyboard but more challenging to replace the Asus Laptop Keyboard itself, since it requires the user to take apart the laptop.

Turn off the laptop. Turn it over onto its cover so you can access the back panel.

Look for the screw with the letter "K" near it. Remove this screw and set it aside.

Turn the laptop right-side up and push open the lid. Lay it flat against the desk or table you are using.

Push in the clips at the top of the Asus Laptop Keyboard with your flathead screwdriver. This will disengage the laptop so you can pull it up slightly.

Look for the cable that holds down the keyboard. Press down on it to release the keyboard from the motherboard. Pull off the keyboard.

Snap the cable into your new Asus Laptop Keyboard and set it into place. Make sure the clips on top snap down to lock it into place.

Put your laptop back together by following the steps in reverse.
