Remove an Acer Laptop Keyboard Key

Even if you are a careful PC user, it’s still possible that your laptop may become damaged or simply dirty. This is particularly the case when it comes to laptop keyboards, such as the Acer Travelmate 7720 Keyboard. If you’ve noticed that that a key has become sticky, doesn’t function correctly or is dirty, then it may be time to remove the key. This can be easily done with either a screwdriver or your fingernail.

Turn off your Acer laptop by clicking “Start > Shutdown > Shutdown.”

Unplug the AC adapter if it is plugged into the laptop.

Place the end of the screwdriver under the top right of the key you want to remove so that it is slightly under the key. If you do not have a screwdriver, you can use your index finger and place your fingernail under the key.

Lift the key in a gentle, upward motion. The key will then pop off.

Replace the Acer Travelmate 7720 Keyboard key after you are done. This can be accomplished by simply pushing the key back in place.
