Ryo Ishikawa Has Picked Up U.S. Open Exemption

Ryo Ishikawa has successfully obtained the exemption to become one of the golf hybrid seven players who no longer have to compete for the access to the U.S. Open.

Though Ishikawa lost in a playoff at the Totoumi Hamamatsu Open in Japan, he closed with a 64 on Sunday, thus, his second finish not only raised him up to No. 49 in the world rankings by four spots, Callaway FT-9 Driver but also earned himself a place at Congressional on June 16-19 for the U.S. Open. All the players in the top 50 in the world rankings are entitled to exemption from U.S. Open qualifying.

Colonial winner David Toms get his exemption through obtaining the fourth place in the top 10 on the latest PGA Tour money list. As to Anders Hansen,Callaway Big Bertha Diablo Driver he earned himself this through his position in the top five on the European Tour money list. In this way, 73 players who are exempt from qualifying for the 156-man field.

This year, the USGA makes an additional deadline to split players in the top 50 in the world and who are exempt from the U.S. Open. That will be the ranking published June 13, Callaway FT-iQ Drivers after the St. Jude Classic and the BMW Italian Open.
