Keyboard not lighting up?. Empty Keyboard not lighting up?.

I have a IBM and my IBM Thinkpad T520 Keyboard was hit and now it won't light up? It used to light up evey time I touched the keys and now it does not light up at all. I can type with all of the keys they just don't have the backlighting anymore. Is it possible that when the keyboard got hit, it turned it off? Is there a way to turn it back on? Thanks!
