laptop keyboard doesn't work

It doesn't work at all, but is in device manager and even when trying to update driver or whatnot, it's supposedly fitted with the latest driver. The new keyboard is an exact copy of the old Acer Extensa Keyboard , and the old one works fine after switching back and forth to try to figure out what the heck is going on.

any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
