Keyboard cases can be used to transport both music and computer keyboards. The case protects the keyboard from being damaged during travel, as well as from dust and other particles. iPad 3 Keyboard cases can be purchased at music or computer shops, depending on your need, or may be built in a day to the keyboard owner's unique specifications.
Instructions

Firstly you need to measure the dimensions of your keyboard. Build a rectangular box frame 1 to 2 inches larger than the height of the keyboard and 3 to 4 inches longer and wider than the iPad 3 keyboard to be cased. Construct a second box frame the same length and width, but half the height of the first box. Use the nails and screws to assemble the two frames.

Measure and cut the paneling to cover the top and sides of the two frames. Use the small tacks to attach the paneling to the frame. Leave one side uncovered; this will be the inside of the case. Use the wood glue and small tacks to attach edging border to conceal rough spots and make your case look more formal.

Cut the foam pieces to fit inside the two frame sections. On the thicker section, you may cut a rut into the foam for the keyboard to slip into. Do not allow the keyboard to touch the frame or paneling on any side. Allow enough room for foam padding on all sides of the keyboard. Secure the foam pieces into place with the glue.

Place the two frames together so that they create a larger box shape, with the two openings facing one another. Use screws or nails to attach the two hinges on one length of the case, directly opposite attach the two latch fixtures. You should then be able to open, close and latch your case.

Affix the handle to the side with the latches.
