History of hockey

Ice hockey originated in the 19th century and a half years on behalf of Canada, with the presence in Canada East of soldier migration and spread throughout Canada.

First formal match was in December 1879, in Montreal.

The first professional ice hockey team, pedicle Lake was in the United States, Michigan, was established, and then in 1904 United States set up the international Professional Hockey League.
In 1908, the establishment of the International Federation of amateur ice hockey in Europe, the Federation's competition for the first time in the same year in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, and Bohemia, and Switzerland, and France and Belgium for the initial five Member States.

In 1917, Canada established a National Hockey League.
